The first quarter of the year tends to be a very active time for promotional events and exhibitions – in 2014 they range from the Boat Show (on now), various Travel Show options, Ideal Home, Art Fairs, Wedding and Baby Shows (two different events/times) through to IPEX which covers print & marketing communications, to select just a few.
Although there’s a documented and noticeable shift away from fully printed format in some areas, at these bespoke events where individuals and businesses can discuss and collect information from sources under the one roof, the demand for brochures and similar collateral remains. Many people still prefer to browse through hard copy details as well as a scanned QR code directing to relevant electronic content – in my opinion, there’s certainly room and often a requirement for both …
Towards the latter part of 2013, we supplied a large conference held in London over several days the following items: programme binder/folder, various supporting brochures, directories, notebooks, newsletters, evaluation forms, certificates and invitations. As elements of final content were not confirmed until quite close to the start of the event (which we fully appreciate is often the way) and with final artwork sent across time zones requiring flexibility from all sides, we ensured all base materials were in place beforehand and scheduled the printing/finishing slots in advance. End result – all deadlines met, a highly successful event with global coverage and extensive positive feedback.
If you require printed marketing materials for distributing at these events it’s invariably the best plan to work alongside suppliers with in-house print facilities to ensure the agreed (and certainly “non-moveable” in all these cases) timeframes can be guaranteed. It’s preferable to plan ahead where possible as per the above example, but I can recall plenty of occasions when we’ve been asked (and able) to produce brochures, postcards etc at short notice … in some cases with materials already complete in another part of the world but resulting transit delays or non-guarantees taking arrival of goods beyond the event deadline.
For UK (and in particular London) events, PrintHouse is perfectly placed to meet the majority of these requirements, both logistically from our west London base and with on-site print facilities incorporating flexible shifts to meet demand. We look forward to expanding our services further in this area during 2014 and beyond – please contact us to discuss any upcoming requirements you may have.
